Albion's Umbro Cup joy

FOOTBALL: WILMSLOW Albion's recently formed under-eights team enjoyed their first taste of success when they won the coveted Umbro Poynton Cup against a very seasoned field of 45 teams.
The Albion won their nine-match group to move into the knock-out stages, winning them all before a victorious 4-0 showing in the final.
The bunch of youngsters have had quite a remarkable introduction to competitive football in the last two months since the formation of the team at the end of April.
Having played 51 games in five tournaments they have lost just five games with an envious goal difference of plus-72.
They will compete for the first time in a competitive league format next season, in the Timperley & District League.
