Rochdale SH 1
Wilmslow Albion 2

WILMSLOW Albion recorded their first win of the season against fourth-placed Rochdale Sacred Hearts with an outstanding performance in the Manchester Premier League.

Albion opened the scoring midway into the first half when a corner fell nicely to Scott Sashu, who expertly controlled the ball with the outside of his foot before lobbing the stranded Hearts keeper.

Both sides continued to have good efforts with the goalkeeper denying Albion on a number of occasions, especially the lively Damien James.

However, just before half time Rochdale got an equaliser. An excellent cross into the box picked outstriker Lee Oldham who calmly tucked the ball home.

Keeper Chris Fiddler was outstanding and made some superb saves to keep Albion in the game. And his contribution proved to be the decisive when Adam Tiffany found captain Carl Bell and his sublime lob secured a superb, and long overdue, first victory of the season.

This Saturday Albion are away at East Manchester, while the reserves travel to Leigh Athletic.
