Record breakers
20/ 8/2008
COUNTY have broken the club record for season ticket sales.
Minutes before Saturday’s home League One opener against Leicester City, the Edgeley Park ticket office reported 3,520 sales, beating the previous record set after County won promotion to Division One - now the Championship - in 1997.
Hatters’ managing director Mark Maguire said: "Despite winning promotion we froze ticket prices again this season to reward our amazing fans’ loyalty, and we’re absolutely thrilled with their response. To sell more season tickets than when we played in Division One is incredible."
Fans are reminded that season tickets are still on sale, with the new 16 to 21-year-old ticket in particular, representing unbelievable value for money.
At just £115, the ticket works out at £5 a game, compared with £16 on a match-to-match basis.
Under-16s are not forgotten, either. For £50 young County fans can watch every League One match at Edgeley Park this season for a little over £2 a game.
