Depleted Albion go down at Stand

30/ 4/2008

WILMSLOW Albion rued missed chances in a 2-1 defeat to Stand Athletic.

Wilmslow were missing a number of injured regulars and started the game on the back foot as Stand had decent efforts on goal.

Midway through the half Stand took the lead with a volley from outside the area and they led 1-0 at half-time.

Wilmslow started the second half strongly and claimed an equaliser when a Hunt cross found Ifere who finished well at the back post.

Wilmslow piled the pressure on and had good efforts to take the lead through, Hunt, Aston and Ault but Stand got a second goal when a header was pushed out by Horridge to an attacker, who fired it into the back of the net. Albion searched for the equaliser with efforts from Mealing, Barclay and Hunt. But the match finished 2-1 to Stand.
