Wilmslow Albion 5 Heywood St James 2

WILMSLOW Albion faced Heywood St James last weekend at Oakwood Farm.

Albion have looked strong in their last two games, picking up four points from a possible six.

Wilmslow started the game strongly with efforts from Neary and Ifere being missed.

Ten minutes into the first half, a well-weighted through ball from McGuire was finished well by Ifere.

Wilmslow had some excellent chances to double the lead through Neary and Ifere but, although just one goal up at the break, Wilmslow were looking comfortable.

Wilmslow started the second half just how they finished the first and Ifere, McGuire, Neary and Ault were all guilty of not converting chances.

Midway through the half, Ifere’s through-ball to Neary saw the Albion player brought down inside the box. The Heywood defender was sent off before Neary slotted home the resulting penalty for a 2-0 lead.

Wilmslow were awarded another penalty when McGuire was upended and Neary again proved deadly from 12 yards well and made it 3-0.

Albion added two more goals through a good finish from McGuire and an own goal after some neat build-up play.

Heywood got two late goals back to make the score 5-2 but rarely looked like causing Wilmslow any problems.
