A NEW football club has been formed through the enthusiasm of local parents.
Alderley Athletic JFC formed in August in reaction to a perceived lack of junior and inclusive teams in the area.
At present it has one Under-Eight team but club officials arehoping to expand next year to cover the Under-Seven and Under-Nine age ranges.
The Alderley Edge team, nicknamed the Squirrels, is made up of students at Alderley Edge Community Primary School, and trains on Tuesdays and Thursdays at their hoime pitch in Chorley Hall Lane.
The youngsters are embarking on their first season, playing on alternate Saturdays at the Trafford JJB Soccer Dome.
