So close but Wilmslow defeated

WILMSLOW agonisingly lost by one wicket last Saturday in a low scoring game.
Having won the toss, Wilmslow elected to bat and moved to 32-0 in the 10th over but three quick wickets put them on the back foot for the next 15 overs as Rob Herriot and Sam Wildsmith looked to consolidate the innings. Once they went, setting a substantial total was difficult as they were bowled out for 117.
In reply Weaverham found runs difficult to accumulate against Dillon (three for 28) and the leg spin of Ethan Harding giving only 18 runs away in 12 overs with a wicket courtesy of Toby Rowe’s catch. Mahboob’s five wickets was a good return, but Weaverham’s last pair got the last six runs needed in the last over.
Wilmslow seconds claimed their third win in four with a 49-run win over Pott Shrigley. After setting 163 to win, Wilmslow bowled Pott out for 113.
The thirds were beaten by 130 runs by Swithells.
