Trouble for off-form Wilmslow

Bowdon Vale 233-5, Wilmslow 135ao (Bowdon Vale won by 98 runs) - WILMSLOW continued their dismal run, with a comprehensive defeat to basement club Bowdon Vale.
The day started badly with a twisted ankle to opening bowler Buys and it only got worse as catches were dropped, and the bowling lacked anything much at all and Vale took full advantage.
Wilmslow, normally a sound batting team, then found a host of ways to get out.
Only Hart (27) and Munslow (36) showed the required application, before they fell and the game was up.
Wilmslow second XI had their second full-point win in two weeks and, although harder tasks are surely to come, they had a highly efficient and effective victory over Bowdon Vale.
On a good wicket Wilmslow were asked to bat, and proceeded to do so. Johnson (41), Hewitt (40) and Harding (29) were the main players in reaching 198-6.
Bowling to three slips and two gullies for most of the game, Wilmslow’s youthful attack bowled a great line, and were duly rewarded. Tom Rowe (four for 10), Toby Rowe (two for five) starred, but Aspinall, Patel and wicketkeeper Harvey were excellent too.
Fourteen-year-old off-spinner Rob Hart picked up four for 32 but the thirds lost to Manchester University. Will May hit a massive six and Nayam Patel scored a stylish 37 but Wilmslow were all out for 174, 50 runs short of the target.
