Wilmslow settle for winning draw

NEW Wilmslow captain Sam Wildsmith led his side to a respectable winning draw at Winsford.
Wilmslow were asked to bat, on a damp but flat pitch, and Mahboob (63) and Harris (33) took advantage of anything pitched short. Fulker (26) and Buys (22) punished anything pitched up, and a good score of 172-7 was posted.
Winsford got off to a slow start, and never wavered, finishing on 107-9 to draw the match. Buys with three for 23 and Mahboob (five for 32) got the wickets, and were well supported by some good catching but Winsford were able to see out the draw.
The second team hosted Stockport, losing by 30 runs.
Stockport chose to bat first and scored 168-5, Ethan Harding (three for 40) was the most successful of Wilmslow’s teenage attack.
In reply Wilmslow made 103-3, before a middle-order collapse led to their defeat.
