WILMSLOW Remembrance Day parades drew residents from their homes to pay their respects to soldiers past and present.
The salvaged Alderley Edge British Legion, which has a new committee after being near closure a year ago, organised a parade from Festival Hall to the war memorial on Ryleys Lane for the wreath laying ceremony.

“It was well worth saving the legion and we are pleased with how Remembrance Day went . Our thanks go to the police.
“And we had a successful Poppy Appeal on the Friday and Saturday.”
The parade was led by scouts from Alderley Edge and Wilmslow and the first wreath laid by chairman of the parish council Paul Tomlinson, before a service the Methodist Church.
In Wilmslow, the parade, led by Alderley District Scout Band, moved from the legion's headquarters on Grove Avenue to St Bartholomew's Church for the morning service.
The congregation moved to the Memorial Garden opposite for wreath laying, the first laid by council leader Wesley Fitzgerald and another by councillor Jim Crockatt.
Jim McDermott, from Wilmslow British Legion, said: “Our turnout exceeded last year, there was standing room only in the church.
“I was very pleased to see so many people standing along the memorial garden and people supporting the poppy appeal this year.
