WILMSLOW SOUTH: Pat Fearnley (Lib Dem)

PAT and her husband have lived in Wilmslow for 30 years. She was elected to Macclesfield Borough Council in 1984 and served for 12 years.
In 2005 Pat was elected to Cheshire County Council for the Wilmslow South Division.
She has served on environment and children’s scrutiny committees and the waste board and is particular concerned about environmental matters.
She said:"Although the Government must give the lead in combating climate change, local councils can play a vital role in this.
"Following the county’s decision to make climate change a priority in 2006, it has taken measures to reduce its own energy use.
"I hope that the new Cheshire East will take up the challenge and lead the community to tackle this hugely important issue."
If elected, Pat said she would fight to see an integrated scheme for parking in Wilmslow together with safer routes for cyclists and travel plans from larger employers.
