Tesco has its sights set on new store in village

LEADING supermarket chain Tesco confirmed it hopes to open a "convenience" store on London Road, Alderley Edge, next year.

The firm plans to rent a unit in the new development on the former Westbrook site at the corner with Clifton Street.

   dont let this happen there are at least 4 other tesco's within a 5 mail radius all tesco do is spend money on new stores or refits insted of looking after the stores and customers that they already have. just look at the handforth dean store its a total mess the staff are paying for the refit because there is no over time of staff to keep the shelves full and the customers are suffering because the stock is sat in the back with nobody to work it

   I think Tescos will be the ruination of Alderley Edge. Not only will it create more parking misery but it will sap the life blood from every other retail outlet. The few shops that are left in Alderley already struggle and this would be the final nail in the coffin. I hope Alderley can do as Poynton has just done and put paid to this retail monster.
