Litvinenko murder worries me greatly
Vic Barlow13/12/2006
ACCORDING to experts Polonium 210, used by unknown parties to murder Alexander Litvinenko, is sufficiently lethal for a mere pinpoint of the radioactive substance to kill ten people.
So what did the British authorities advise fellow customers of the restaurant where the deadly toxin is believed to have been administered?
Call NHS Direct... I kid you not. The best advice on offer to potential victims of one of the most deadly poisons known to man was Call NHS Direct, a service whose standard response to every condition is 'take two Panadol and phone your doctor in the morning'.
The Metropolitan Police went one better. Having discovered Mr Litvinenko died from Polonium 210 and radiation poisoning they issued an illuminating statement describing his death as 'suspicious'.
Now that's what I call detecting.

There is information about the internet service, the digital tv service and the telephone service. Please look at the site and then let us know where it says anything about the standard response being as you say. Then I suggest that you review the findings of the National Audit Office and the BMJ on the performance of NHS Direct. Now, you can either engage in a discussion about facts or you can come back with the equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and closing your eyes as you did before. Whilst I admire your blind devotion to your master, Mr Barlow, I would rather have a discussion with you about facts. However, if you choose to ignore them then that is up to you.
