Indecent haste of MBC development plans

DO YOU remember the speed with which Macclesfield Borough Council flashed through the public consultation of the proposed Macclesfield town centre development? I was in the shower at the time and almost missed it.
One poor old soul was visiting her sister and returned to learn that her entire street was to be demolished. It was one of the fastest stunts ever pulled (even by MBC standards).
So, what's happened in the past 12 months? Given the haste with which the plans were rushed through the consultation process one might have expected to see scaffolding on every street corner. What do we have? Nothing, not even a bag of Blue Circle.
If we'd known MBC were going to mess about for the next decade we could have taken our time and had a serious look at those monumental development plans before they were whipped from under us.
