Why Lord Tim is a breath of fresh air in a world of spin

Vic Barlow

WELL, well, well, Lord Tim Hudson, the Prestbury born 1960s California DJ, will be back on air with his own radio show on Canalside Community Radio in October. I can’t wait. Tim’s a walking, talking Technicolor tornado.

I’m never too sure what he’s banging on about, and I don’t really care. In a world of spin, obfuscation and double-talk, Tim’s not so much a breath of fresh air as a hurricane.

He once sent me a postcard written in his own blood. I have no idea why, and that’s the point – Lord Tim doesn’t need a reason to do anything: he’s just Tim.

It’s impossible to know whether the self-styled Lord is a millionaire, as he claims, or a pauper, and God knows who actually stayed and played at his Birtles Bowl home. Ian Botham certainly did, and lived to regret it, as for Viv Richards, Mick Jagger, Joy Division, Paul McCartney, Tom Jones etc, who knows?

Where Lord Tim is concerned there’s a very faint line between fact and fantasy, but I wouldn’t be shocked if he turned up with Madonna; Tim’s that kind of guy.

If you do nothing else this Autumn, tune into Lord Tim’s radio show. Who knows what he’ll do, he won’t know himself until he’s done it but if you listen carefully, you’ll probably hear station manager Nick Wright having a nervous breakdown in the background.

I know Tim & Maxi from Palm Springs, and they have been over for dinner at my house there in Rancho Mirage.

One thing he is not full of is BS. Read his book 'FROM THE BEATLES TO BOTHAM and all the b..s..in between'.

I am looking forward to his radio show as I know he WILL be refreshingly different.

Hippie'ish? Yup. Great artist? Yup. Eccentric? Yup. Neat couple? Yup. Millionaire? Yup. I hope he gets back to high profile radio if that's what he wants. We could do with more like him in the public eye, worldwide.

No its not, its about cheesy dj's bad jumpers, ABBA and "ive got Glenda from Poynton on line 2".

Oh, lets not forget 12 listeners, big time again eh?
