Endangered list

I'VE received a number of e-mails regarding the £60K the, soon to be extinct, Cheshire County Council spent relocating four newts from a development site.

"Me and the missus would leave the country for 60 grand and take the newts with us," said one retired gent.

"They could have individual suites at Mottram Hall for that sort of money," alleged another. Which does beg the question: exactly what does a newt get for £15K?

The most interesting enquiry came from a Wilmslow resident who wanted to know how much Jones Homes has spent over the years on newt removal. Given their vast wealth and huge resources how do they cope with protected species on their sites? Do they have a dedicated reptile relocation manager?

If Jones would care to reveal their newt moving strategy I'd be happy to recommend it for County Councillors and any other endangered species.

I agree, and will undercut Big K - will do it for £5.

This amount of expenditure does need some form of explanation, don't you agree?

Should less emphasis be placed on the results of tests and more emphasis on general education for children?
