I'VE received a number of e-mails regarding the £60K the, soon to be extinct, Cheshire County Council spent relocating four newts from a development site.

"Me and the missus would leave the country for 60 grand and take the newts with us," said one retired gent.

With Council Spending money is no object is it? They will not run out because they will just come back to us with tax increases.

Collect them in a bucket and deposit them in another pond. I will do it for a tenner.
