MULTI award-winning play The History Boys returns to The Lowry Theatre at Salford Quays after a triumphant visit last year.

Alan Bennett's witty and thought-provoking script centres on a bunch of bright, funny sixth form boys in pursuit of sex, sport and a place at university. Throw into the mix a maverick English teacher at odds with the young and shrewd supply teacher, a headmaster obsessed with results and a history teacher who thinks he's a fool and you've got a wonderful prescription for comedy and drama. Widely acclaimed and now a box-office film smash, The History Boys runs from Tuesday until next Wednesday.
