Preview: Andrea Bocelli

CLASSICAL music superstar Andrea Bocelli returns to Manchester this week with a concert at the MEN Arena.

The singer, writer and producer, who lost his sight at the age of 12, has recorded four complete operas (La Boheme, Il Trovatore, Werther and Tosca), as well as various classical and pop albums in his career, although he has never been classically trained.

Bocelli, 48, is massively popular in the US and his latest album, Amore, features Stevie Wonder, Christina Aguilera and Kenny G.

An operatic tenor, he will be accompanied by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and Prague Chamber Choir, conducted by Maestro Marcello Rota, at the MEN Arena.

Baritone is Gianfranco Montresor with special pop guest Rosalia Misseri.

Bocelli plays the Arena on Thursday, October 5. Tickets are £40, £60 and £90. Call the box office on 0870 190 8000.
