Rat Pack are back
by angela kelly15/ 9/2006
THE memorable music of the Rat Pack returns to Manchester when
Frank, Dean and Sammy do it their way in the show built around the
famous entertainers.
The Rat Pack Live From Las Vegas is a new production, destined to
draw the fans to the Palace for a week-long run. It is a nostalgic
journey back to the 60s with the performers who, for a brief but
glittering period, let the rest of the world in on their private
world.
The original Rat Pack featured Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy
Davis Jr, Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford but it is the first three
who really captured the public's imagination. They were all
established stars - Sinatra in particular was riding the crest of
an enduring international wave of poularity - when they first
teamed up as friends who occasionally performed together. But this
was often in glitzy Las Vegas, the gambling and entertainment
centre in the Nevada desert, so this was where thousands flocked to
witness their smooth musical and comedy routines.
The musical features many of their most famous songs in a
sophisticated show the guys would have loved.
It runs from Monday to Saturday. For tickets ring 0870 401
3000.
