THEATRE: Les Puddings Noir, Library Theatre, Thurs 14 to Sat 16 Aug
Angela Kelly13/ 8/2008
A HILARIOUS play all about Bury’s famous black puddings is guaranteed to stoke up the fun at Manchester’s Library Theatre.
Moston community theatre group MaD Theatre returns to the venue with Les Puddings Noir – another slice of enjoyable satire following successes with ASBO and last year’s She’s Just Nipped Out for Fags.
In a bid to become Europe’s Capital of Cooking, the power-crazed Lady Mayoress has banned all-day breakfasts in Bury and forced black puddings to be rebranded Les Puddings Noir. Not surprisingly, revolt is in the air.
The production stars Stretford’s Ted Turner as Ronnie – one half of a builders’ comedy double act. "It is a very funny part, with plenty of slapstick and visual comedy," Ted (pictured right) said.
He says he is very much looking forward to the performances, which run from Thursday, August 14 until Saturday, August 16. "The rehearsals have been going very well, and I think people will really enjoy it. There is definitely something for everyone," he said.
Runs from Thursday to Saturday. For tickets ring 0161 236 7110.
