A CULT play turned into a film starring Hollywood A-listers Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman is heading for Manchester.
Tape, written by leading American playwright Stephen Belber, was translated to the big screen in 2002 in a film directed by Robert Linklater which captured the imagination of cinema audiences.
Now, it can be seen presented by Northern Outlet Theatre Company and directed by Bolton-born Paul Walker.
Tape reunites three American college graduates who get together for the first time in a decade to celebrate the release of a film one of them has made.
But old enmities surface and threaten to wreck the occasion as emotional wounds re-open.
Manchester Metropolitan University student Ryan Cerenko, recently awarded a prestigious Laurence Olivier Drama Bursary, Stockport-based Ric Ward and Marie-Louise Cookson, from Preston, take the lead roles in this compelling thriller.
Tape can be seen at Taurus Bar on Canal Street, Manchester on Friday, August 1 and at Bolton Central Library on Saturday, August 2. For tickets ring 07980 024 073.
